A new publication has been published in Building and Environment, from the EAPLAB at UNIPG, by Agnese Chiucchiù, Anna Laura Pisello, Veronica Martins Gnecco, and Ilaria Pigliautile, “The Role of Personality in Multi-Domain Environmental Perception: An Occupant-Centric Approach”.

Did you know that even slight temperature changes can alter how we perceive sound? Our study reveals that personality traits—like neuroticism or emotional stability—play a key role in shaping how occupants experience their environment across multiple domains.

Key insight: To design buildings that are not just energy-efficient but also truly comfortable, we must account for cross-domain interactions and individual differences in perception.
